Fall
Autumn is in the Air
Fall has finally arrived and as you step out into the crisp autumn air, with sunlight filtering through the trees ablaze with color, you are reminded of the abundant foods of the harvest. With the memory of summer fading as fast as your tan, thoughts turn to those foods which wrap around you like a warm cozy blanket: Yes, I mean… COMFORT FOODS.
Finally! The kids are back in school, the new clothes, books, backpacks and computers and have been bought. You’ve been nominated to run the PTA (Yikes!), the kids have only missed the bus 3 times this week and there’s talk of a flu bug going around already. Grandma has called to ask you what size the kids are, because she is finishing up her Christmas shopping (“but, that’s months away”, you say to yourself). Halloween…Thanksgiving…Chanukah…Christmas…. Stress…are just around the corner. “I need some comfort!” you shout.
Everybody has a special food that signals comfort and love. We asked our friends and family and found that many different foods give us that warm fuzzy feeling we associate with love. Here are some of the responses:
-
Meatloaf
-
Mashed Potatoes
-
Chicken Soup
-
Maccaroni and Cheese
We've collected a few of these favorites and made them "Syndrome X friendly". Give them a try!
